*sigh* Where to start? I got a call from Melvin and he told me that he
gave my buisness card to HR at Macy's and to register online. After
some stupidty on my part, I registered and got confirmation to have a
group interview on Tuesday. I filled out their application, sent in my
resume, and tried to figure out what to wear and if I should bring my
portfolio. I decided on my shiny purple blouse, pinstrip blazer, and
black pants and yes... I brought my portfolio (just in case). After
spending fucking $7 for resume printing ( I swear I know how Kinko's
works but what do I still fight their policy of a 24 hour turnaround
time?) I hopped onto bart and went to Macy's. There were 11 females
there waiting for mostly seasonal position. There was another girl
around my age who knew exactly where she wanted to work that caught my
eye as "competition". She wanted Impluse- Macy's highest end section of
their department. Melvin mentioned me working there but I kept my
answer vague to see my options. HR talked with us and then said that he
would take us in 3 at a time to see which section of the department we
would be working for. I (of course) went in with the other girl (who
wanted Impluse). When we got to the room where HR was I waited for them
to tell me to sit, she sat down without hesatation. She wanted first,
whatever, I knew I'd get whatever position better than her

.
She stated again she wanted Impluse and HR quickly said that Impluse
was not hiring, she had the choice of selling watches or sportswear.
She choosed watches since she's not that altheltic. HR got her info and
told her to go meet the head of that section. After she left, HR asked
me to sit and I waitied for Q/A. He said hi turned around and in his
hands was my business card (a lil bent and worn) with a smile on his
face. I was shocked, that card looked like it's been around.... wow...
having someone else hold it for viewing... it's different. My card
stands out!!! wow!! pink... is awesome.
So
side note.... I also applied to be a bridal consultant (part time)
and... that day (before interview) I got a call but I wasn't able to
get it but I knew it was a call to tell me I would be a bridal
consultant. So... WHAT DO I DO???

When I talked with HR they said that I need to have all 7 days open for
Impluse to hire me.... but... bridal..... So he told me to take the
call and call him back with my answer. Option 1: take the bridal
position and work Fridays and Saturdays with a huge chance of being
promoted to full time and a higher position (not sure how long that
would take) OR Option 2: take the offer at Macy's, working full time at
Impluse... After 30 minutes of freaking out (and calling mom and
Dennis- thanks Dennis) I called the bridal place and declined
(DECLINED!!!) their offer stating that I had a better offer. Called up
HR and met with him again to get me ready for my interview with the
manager of Impluse. Let's just say I could'a done better at the
interview if I studied Impluse a bit better. Ivan, the manager asked me
to meet with him the next day to talk with the BCBG specialist and see
if he wants to hire me. I came back today only to be told that there
was no Impluse specialist

and he asked for my forgiveness for misinforming me but- he would still
like me to work at Implluse as a regular sale associate until he can
get that fixed. I said that's fine and am now waiting for his call on
Monday (or call him on Monday).
