  • Daryl's b-day

So yesterday was Daryl's b-day and we all went to Holy Cow to celebrate. Alex and Daryl rode with Gordon and me and we were the first to arrive so we decided to not wait and start the drinking (since our plan was to get him as drunk as possible Moments later the group started to complete and we are now buying drinks after drinks for the birthday boy. I got him to get a shot with both hot female bartenders and tried to get some from other girls but they were all being chickens and had their guys friends covering them. Whatever!!! We got there around.... 10pm and Daryl was out before 11:30. Before Gordon dragged him to the car, I was able to convince some ladies to take a picture with him. Gordon had to hold onto him while the girls sat between Gordon and Daryl (Steve had to hold up Daryl's head so we could see his head). We stayed for another hour before we all headed to Denny's to sober up. We (again) left Daryl in the car and checked up on him every once in a while to make sure our car was still clean. An hour later, we finished and Gordon took out his sharpie and.... yea.... I wished my camera did not break... but it did....  ALICE I NEED YOUR EMAIL FOR THE PICTURES AFTER DENNY'S!!! Poor camera.... it's been good to me for almost 4 years... time to get a new one now.... (one that doesn't confuse people). We counted the drinks and it looks like Daryl had about 10 drinks... he could'a handled more.... Pictures will be up but Alice!!!! you have the second half.... it looks like my camera did die before I thought it did....

  • Job searching

*sigh* Where to start? I got a call from Melvin and he told me that he gave my buisness card to HR at Macy's and to register online. After some stupidty on my part, I registered and got confirmation to have a group interview on Tuesday. I filled out their application, sent in my resume, and tried to figure out what to wear and if I should bring my portfolio. I decided on my shiny purple blouse, pinstrip blazer, and black pants and yes... I brought my portfolio (just in case). After spending fucking $7 for resume printing ( I swear I know how Kinko's works but what do I still fight their policy of a 24 hour turnaround time?) I hopped onto bart and went to Macy's. There were 11 females there waiting for mostly seasonal position. There was another girl around my age who knew exactly where she wanted to work that caught my eye as "competition". She wanted Impluse- Macy's highest end section of their department. Melvin mentioned me working there but I kept my answer vague to see my options. HR talked with us and then said that he would take us in 3 at a time to see which section of the department we would be working for. I (of course) went in with the other girl (who wanted Impluse). When we got to the room where HR was I waited for them to tell me to sit, she sat down without hesatation. She wanted first, whatever, I knew I'd get whatever position better than her . She stated again she wanted Impluse and HR quickly said that Impluse was not hiring, she had the choice of selling watches or sportswear. She choosed watches since she's not that altheltic. HR got her info and told her to go meet the head of that section. After she left, HR asked me to sit and I waitied for Q/A. He said hi turned around and in his hands was my business card (a lil bent and worn) with a smile on his face. I was shocked, that card looked like it's been around.... wow... having someone else hold it for viewing... it's different. My card stands out!!! wow!! pink... is awesome.

So side note.... I also applied to be a bridal consultant (part time) and... that day (before interview) I got a call but I wasn't able to get it but I knew it was a call to tell me I would be a bridal consultant. So... WHAT DO I DO??? When I talked with HR they said that I need to have all 7 days open for Impluse to hire me.... but... bridal..... So he told me to take the call and call him back with my answer. Option 1: take the bridal position and work Fridays and Saturdays with a huge chance of being promoted to full time and a higher position (not sure how long that would take) OR Option 2: take the offer at Macy's, working full time at Impluse... After 30 minutes of freaking out (and calling mom and Dennis- thanks Dennis) I called the bridal place and declined (DECLINED!!!) their offer stating that I had a better offer. Called up HR and met with him again to get me ready for my interview with the manager of Impluse. Let's just say I could'a done better at the interview if I studied Impluse a bit better. Ivan, the manager asked me to meet with him the next day to talk with the BCBG specialist and see if he wants to hire me. I came back today only to be told that there was no Impluse specialist and he asked for my forgiveness for misinforming me but- he would still like me to work at Implluse as a regular sale associate until he can get that fixed. I said that's fine and am now waiting for his call on Monday  (or call him on Monday).

  • Another update

New look and a change. Been thinking about what I want and I've decided Sailiomoon. Gotta love her and what she stands for.

After the job at Richmond and the fashion show (liking the new pics?) I've been looking for another job. It's hard, I have the skills but businesses just look at me and still ask "do you even know what you're doing for this?" Looking at my fucking portfolio and my resume. It explains itself. 7 fashion shows, customer service, internships (2), Lucky's April 2006 May edition featured designers getting the skills and knowledge from school, not to mention all the skills needed to make patterns, sew garments, and I've got presentation down. *sigh* what else do I need? Helping my friend with her 2 clothing line- ready to wear hip hop line and high end hip hop line. I have the title of production assistant, but until it becomes a real business I won't get paid. Trying to find a part time is hard, they all think I'm weird applying for other positions besides fashion. Gotta pay the bills somehow!!!!

Tres' and Steve's birthday passes (August 11th/9th) and I planned an awesome trip to Great America. Tres told me it was one of his best if not the best birthdays ever..... now if I only know how to top this one off next year. Planning Aldo's 21st birthday for October..... hopefully everything will go smoothly. I'm thinking Dave 'n Busters. Everyone says it's a great place to go play games and drink so I'm gonna see for myself.
